Bathroom Before and After Phase 1: Removing the Shower Doors

by Jacey on September 7, 2014

We’re going to call this part Bathroom Makeover, Phase 1. This is what I was working with. Not exactly pretty. I love an 80s style bathroom door as much as the next person….. not at all.

I was pretty certain that taking down those doors and putting up a curtain would do wonders for the place. So, I did a little online research about how to take shower doors off. Then, one day I got to the point where I was so sick of looking at those doors that I came home from work one day and took them off.

Would waiting for Gavin to help manoeuvre them out have been easier? Probably. But ain’t nobody got time for that.

I lifted them off their track and admired my handy work. You may have seen the post on Instagram that I tagged #whileyouwereout It’s not every day you come home to find your shower doors on the floor in your living room. Although it is probably way more likely if you are dating a Murphy. #wegotitfromourmomma

Gavin actually took the whole no shower door thing quite well. Hilariously, I don’t even think I had thought ahead enough to go buy a shower curtain. Ooopsy. A quick trip to Home Sense remedied that. I hung up the curtain and called it a day. This brings us to the end of Phase 1. I was already much happier, the room was brighter and the shower was doorless. My work here was done…. for now.

Love that shower curtain. So much better and brighter! Can’t wait for the Part 2 – paint those ugly tiles – debuts on the blog! Such improvements!
